Dementia-Friendly Concerts: Kaitlin Ross & Catriona Hawksworth
Dementia-Friendly Concerts • 37m
This #WorldAlzheimersMonth we’re supporting #SongsforDementia – Playlist for Life’s campaign focusing on the ‘me’ in dementia through the use of personalised playlists unique to the soundtrack of someone’s life.
Please join us each week, over the month of September, as we release a new dementia friendly concert recorded at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall earlier this year.
Our third performance is by Kaitlin Ross and Catriona Hawksworth - a Scottish traditional song and piano duo. They blend Kaitlin’s singing of traditional Gaelic and Scots songs with Catriona’s contemporary piano style, creating a unique sound. The duo began playing together in secondary school, meeting at the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music in Plockton and have loved learning and playing together ever since!
The pair love to perform classic songs for older audiences to join in with, and enjoy getting to play lots of fun musical games and songs for wee ones too.
